Despite national trends indicating a decline in alumni participation rates at many institutions, Holy Cross once again surpassed 50 percent donor participation in alumni giving, which will likely place it among the top 10 colleges and universities nationwide. The College enjoyed a record year in giving thanks to the generosity of 18,371 alumni, parents, students and friends, with $42 million overall and $9.4 million designated to the Holy Cross Fund.

Alumni participation is used as a measure of alumni satisfaction with alma mater. For Holy Cross, it also speaks to a strong tradition in giving as well as maintaining national recognition and reputation.

According to Tracy Barlok, vice president for advancement, "A gift is a vote of confidence and the College will strive to meet and exceed this number annually."

Donors also remembered Holy Cross in their estate plans and more than $4.6 million was realized through bequests. Parents were incredibly generous with their time and resources and Crusader Athletics Fund supporters created a new level of excellence in this area.

"Donor support directly and immediately impacts our ability to carry out the mission of this unique and wonderful college," said Barlok.

Alumni participated in 240 club events throughout the course of the year, from social gatherings to career and service events, signaling a strong tradition of engagement.

"Donor generosity and involvement can be seen and felt throughout the College daily. Holy Cross thrives today because our mission is more important than ever," said Barlok.
