Mayrhofen Penken - Panoramarundweg & Penkenjoch - Walking Tour 4K

The Panoramic Route (Panoramarundweg) starts at the mountain station of the Kombibahn Penken and the restaurants Lärchwaldhütte / Kasermandl am Penken. From here you walk along the lake up towards the Penkenjoch. During the route you have a beautiful panoramic view over the Zillertal and towards the Tuxertal. This also gives you a view of the many side valleys of the Zillertal, such as the Stilluptal.

About the middle of the route you walk past the Granatkappelle, a small chapel next to the lake close to the Penkenjoch, the Speichersee Penkenjoch. From here you once again have a panoramic view towards the Ahorn, the Stilluptal, the Rastkogel and the Horberg valley.

Arriving at the Penkenjoch there are the restaurants Granatalm & Penkentenne. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal on the sunny terrace. From here you take the route back towards the Kombibahn Penken. You can do this via the same route or a small variation and a slightly different route.
