**I just checked today 4/9/22 and you can once again disable the Google Lens feature, but I had to go to chrome://flags/ in my address bar and then search for lens to find it. I assume this could change again though!

If you are a Google Chrome browser user, then you might know that you can normally right click on an image and choose the Search Google for image option to find similar or related images from other websites. One thing you might have noticed is that you suddenly have an option that says Search image with Google Lens instead. This option will let you fine tune your searches by allowing you to focus on one part of the image and only search for the selected area.

It is possible to enable or disable this feature by pasting in the following text into your Chrome address bar.
chrome://flags/#enable-lens-region-search

Apparently, Google has made this feature permanent and disabling the flag doesn't disable it anymore. That doesn't mean it will stay that way and it might start working in the future.
