What makes a good hockey goalie blocker?

A lot of people say a blocker is a blocker... and I couldn't disagree more.

I have people ask me why I wear a mismatching blocker when I play some games, and the answer is I don't think all blockers are made equal and there are certain properties I look for when buying a blocker and specifically when playing.
