This talk is a good introduction to FHIR Terminology Services for those that are unfamiliar or have a limited exposure. The talk tracks the journey of coded clinical data through a FHIR ecosystem, from clinical data entry, to being encoded in a resource and sent to another system, validated against profiles, mapped, filtered and analysed. All of this is done with a fun fictitious example from the Wizard of Oz.
Along the way you learn how the different parts of the Terminology API support the journey, how you can use them to solve your problems, and some of the issues you should consider when you do.
