Pedersoli 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine

We got a Pedersoli 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine.
What a lovely 45/70 to handle, nice size, not too cumbersome, but would be a handy weapon in a fight
Custers troops had these, they had been having problems with fired shells jamming in the breech (which rendered these as heavy clubs) , and some suspected this was a cause of the Little Big Horn Massacre.
The brass cases had been reacting to the leather ammo pouches, and this created a green growth on them.
Although it appears that rifles found later on at the Little Big Horn were almost all servicable.
From my reading, it appears that Custer blundered into a Indian trap, through his arrogance and conceited opinion of his own abilities.

This also comes in a rifle version with a longer barrel
