(30 Oct 2015) A GALAXY OF STARS COME OUT TO SEE RYAN MURPHY HONOREDED BY AMFAR
Ryan Murphy, one of Hollywood's most successful television bosses, was honored Thursday night (29 OCT. 2015) by the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
Murphy was celebrated at amfAR's Inspirational Gala in Los Angeles, which attracted a whole host of his celebrity friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga, Sharon Stone, Lea Michele and Matt Bomer, to name but a few.
Speaking at the event, attendees described the man, who has created hit TV shows like "Nip/Tuck" (2003-10), "Glee" (2009-15), "American Horror Story" (2011-present), and "Scream Queens" (2015-present), as "passionate," "committed" and "devoted" to supporting AIDS research.
Denis O'Hare, who stars in "American Horror Story," admires Murphy both professionally and personally.
"He's a dad and that's a new role for me and Ryan (Murphy)... Our kids are about the same age, maybe his child is a little bit younger, but he's a devoted parent," said O'Hare.
Jamie Lee Curtis agreed.
The actress held up her iPhone showing the cover of a Hollywood Reporter issue with Murphy holding his young son.
"That is who Ryan Murphy is," smiled Curtis.
Fashion designer, and amfAR chairman, Kenneth Cole described Murphy as "committed."
He said, when it came to organizing the gala, Murphy called in a few favors - resulting in Lady Gaga agreeing to perform at the event.
"You know he's going to call in on those resources and he's going to call people he knows and he's going to twist arms and he's going to do what he can to help make this night special and that was a commitment he made at the beginning and he has lived up to that," explained Cole.
The evening, which featured a live auction, raised $3.1 million (USD) for the charity.
