Kakani Memorial Park | Park dedicated TG 311 crash

Kakani memorial park is dedicated to the Thai Airways International flight TG 311 on 31st July 1992. The aircraft crashed into the side of a mountain in Langtang National Park 37 kilometers north of Kathmandu at an altitude of 3505 meters and dead all 99 passengers and 14 crew members.

On July 31, 1992, the news of the loss of TG311 of Thai Airlines was broadcast by Radio Nepal. The last contact was made from a distance of about 10 miles. The rescue operation was centered in the same area 15 miles south of Kathmandu. After 48 hours, the locals informed that the crash plane was found at an altitude of 3500 meters in Langtang National Park. During the monsoon season, the plane lost in the cloud and crashed into a cliff 27 miles north of Kathmandu, killing all 114 people about 40 miles from the search area. The Kakani Memorial Park is a park dedicated to souls who died in the same accident.
