Описание к видео How POWERFUL the Philippines Most MODERN WARSHIPS | Enough to Deter China in West PH Sea?

The Philippines received BRP Miguel Malvar, (FFG-06) at Subic Naval Operating base, in line with the celebration of its 127th anniversary of the Philippine Navy. Marking a significant milestone in Manila’s military modernization program and the arrival of the most capable warship received by the Southeast Asian nation to date.
The first of the country’s two guided missile frigates-class warships, the BRP Miguel Malvar, will soon patrol in the West Philippine Sea and Northern Luzon, where presence of Chinese vessels are increasing. It is the first of the Philippine Navy’s two guided missile corvettes from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries that is equipped with antiship, antisubmarine, and antiaircraft capabilities.
While its armament — consisting of an OTO Melara 76mm main gun, two SEA triple-tube 324mm torpedo launching systems, a GOKDENIZ close-in weapons system, eight SSM-700 K C-Star anti-ship missiles, and 16 Vertically Launched-MICA surface-to-air missiles — is limited compared to larger navies in the region, still it is a major leap for the Philippine Navy’s Offshore Combat Force.
The Philippine Navy has already begun to bolster its capabilities, receiving two Acero-class patrol gunboats from Israel, equipped with advanced missile systems.
Initially announced in 2012, the Philippine Navy’s modernization plan aimed to acquire a robust fleet, including six anti-air warfare frigates and three attack submarines. Yet, as of this year, it only operates two modern frigates – the BRP José Rizal and BRP Antonio Luna – alongside a handful of other vessels, leaving it vulnerable in a region fraught with tension.
Manila did not operate any vessels sporting vertical launching systems or close-in weapon systems before Miguel Malvar’s arrival last month. The frigate’s EL/M-2258 ALPHA is also the Philippine Navy’s first multi-function active electronically scanned array naval radar.
