iOS 10.2 Beta 4 - Released

What is going on guys Apple Fox here and Apple has released the iOS 10.2 Beta 4. It didn’t happen immediately or a week after the Beta 3. We were starting to get used to this kind of cycle but Apple again showed that they’re not predictable at all. So just like always I’ll be talking about the update itself with the changes and new stuff it brings but also what it means for average users.
This is how it looks like. Well I get really bored when looking at Apple’s update prompts because you have no idea about the update at all, like nothing important can be found in here. All it says is that it contains bug fixes and improvements, but most of the time, we can see new, quite useful features that aren’t mentioned on the update page.
This is actually not the case, because there are no changes, or no visible changes in this version. It’s impossible to find the place where the bugs got removed because there are so many places where it could happen, so I cannot tell you what’s changed in terms of bug fixing. Of course if it’s not something easily noticable.
As I already said there isn’t any noticable change in this beta, but there is one thing I want to talk about. If you remember or if you watched my previous beta videos, you probably know that we got a new feature called SoS mode in Beta 2.
It got removed in Beta 3 for some reason. Nobody knows exactly what the reason is but I hoped that is just a problem with stability of this feature and hopefully it would come back in Beta 4 but it didn’t happen at all. I’m not sure what’s going on with this feature, because it could be really handy at some case.
For all of you who don’t know what it is or how to use it, well it is a security related feature that lets you make emergency call when you need it. It’s activated by clicking the power button 5 times and that is something you can easily do when you need help instead of unlocking your phone and calling the number.
The official version of iOS 10.2 or the day when it gets released is of course unclear but I think it will be in week or two because there is already fourth beta and considering that when iOS 10 got published we were running eight beta and that was a lot bigger update. Basically what I want to say is that I don’t think we’ll see any other beta of iOS 10.2 maybe Beta 5 but nothing beyond, at least this is how I see it.
Besides that iOS 10.2 brings redesigned and new emojis but this is not something that appeared in this beta. So you probably know how it looks like now.
