Have you heard of Dyspraxia or Apraxia? I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't, because it's not as common as other disorders that affect speech and language. BUT it co-occurs with several other conditions, so it'll be good to find out more about it to check for signs and symptoms, like:

delayed babbling

hearing the child say the word once but never again after that
mouth is moving but no sound

difficult to understand the child
