When I refer to this as an American design that is somewhat false, the design for the OTS horn has its origins in Europe, especially from the Dodworth family. However, to my knowledge the majority of its use occurred in the United States, with dedicated American manufacturers producing this family of instruments.

Even calling these “Saxhorns” is questionable, however they have been referred to by this name since their inception, and certainly share design characteristics with the saxhorn family.
