Some economic experts and the business community on the Copperbelt have described the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report on Zambia being on the list of ten African countries expected to have the highest GDP growth in 2025 as exciting.

Copperbelt University finance expert Stephen Mpembele says this is a huge relief to the country and a sign that the economic policy environment in Zambia is now predictable and attractive for more investment.

Speaking to ZNBC News in Kitwe, Dr. Mpembele also said that the report indicates the country’s macroeconomic variables, such as inflation, interest rates, and the exchange rate, will start improving.

Ndola and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Joseph Malisawa says the projection of Zambia being one of the ten African economies to have the highest GDP growth, as per IMF reports, means that everyone now has to work hard to ensure the projection turns into reality.

Mr. Malisawa has also called on the government to work on the energy challenges in the country so that it can become more productive.
