What an interesting story behind this old relic we found!

`It’s so strange when you find a relic in an old ghetto park. Never expected it and probably won’t find another any time soon.

This is a tag, likely a luggage tag, that we found today. It rang up as a 54 but when it came out of the ground it looked like it was made of copper because it was brown with tarnish. Given that it seems to be made of aluminum, it must have been lying there for a while. When we Googled who Rev. S. E. Turner in Ft. Sumner NM was, up came a news article (2nd pic) from September 1911 which explained that the good Reverend was going to be preaching at the Presbyterian church. This tag has to be from the late 1800’s through the early 1900’s. It blows my mind.

We headed to this park because it’s really shady, even though it’s in the middle of the heat island in South Phoenix. We hunted for 3 1/2 hours. We found 3 rings, of them the claddagh is 925 silver, while the giant ring is 950 silver with 14K gold accents. The 3rd ring was aluminum. We also found a tiny metal duck and some other bling. No collectible coins, but over $12 in clad.

We rich!
