The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) believes in the oneness of Sindh and it will not accept the division of the Sindh province under any condition. This was stated by the member of the Co-ordination Committee Qasim Ali Raza on various TV channels. Explaining the position of the MQM in the backdrop of the statement of Chief Minister of the Punjab Mr Shahbaz Sharif about making Karachi a province, Mr Qasim Ali Raza said that no such demand has been put forward by the people of Karachi and Sindh. He said that demands of a Hazara province and a Seraiki province have been made in the Punjab. He said that the MQM has stated on various occasions the demands for creating new provinces should be decided according to the wishes and aspirations of the people by holding public referendums. He said that the statement by Mr Shahbaz Sharif for making a new province in Sindh is beyond understanding and it may be an attempt to thwart the creation of new provinces in the Punjab. He reiterated that the MQM believes in the unity of Sindh and it does not want the Sindh to be divided.
