formed in the summer of 1995 and resumed in the summer of 2001, pinkly smooth, from huntingdon beach (california, USA) had three avenged sevenfold members as part of the band – almost in parallel –: the rev, syn gates and justin meacham (A7X's bassist before johnny christ).

the "love story" that originated pinkly smooth, now us being able to consider it as a project, is that while in vacatiom from the bands, the members used to meet in a hotel, in their own hometown, and there figured that they should bet in a band who had, by influences, "queen ai meshuggah" and "danny elfman". those influences can be appreciated in the vocal harmonies from the rev, the absurd drum tempos, the guitar riffs and in the strange piano melodies that unexpectedly show up during the songs.

pinkly smooth shows an astonishing variety of styles in their compositions, producing thus an unique sonority. to those who like to label, the band may be classified as avant-garde metal, which has its foundations in the experimentalism and in the unstructured way to compose, mixing itself in several musical styles. it is noticeable in the songs a mix that goes from death metal to ska, going even through some pink, vanguard and country.
             
their only cd, named "unfortunate snort", has 6 tracks in total, with the duration around 4 minutes, being their longest track "necromance theatre" with more than 7 minutes.
