When you have this tool and see how easy it is to disassemble and reassemble the tricky M1 Carbine bolt, you will clean it more often and keep your M1 Carbine in tip-top shape.

While it is possible to reassemble the bolt without the Linemount Bolt tool, it is extremely difficult and not recommended. You may damage or lose the small parts due to springs launching across the room.

The challenge is that you must depress the extractor plunger against a strong spring while holding the ejector and ejector spring in a specific position, also against a strong spring. While keeping all this in place, insert the extractor while holding the firing pin! This is difficult at best and impossible at worst.

I tried for hours to do this without buying the tool, but I failed, so I finally broke down and bought it. It was definitely worth the money!
