The canister on our vintage Vitamix was leaking a bit. What we found was that a fiber washer which resides between the hexagonal drive shaft and the bottom of the bearing assembly had completely worn out to the point of being so deformed there was no way it could create a good seal. A similar washer which resides between the blades and the top of the bearing assembly was rather worn as well.

We grabbed a repair kit on eBay and set about making the repairs. The repair kit was for the 3600 and included a couple of parts we didn't need - however the large shoulder washer which makes a seal between the bearing assembly and the bottom of the canister, as well as the two aforementioned fiber washers, were exactly what we needed to repair our 2100.
