What’s David think of the looks?
David is a simple man with simple tastes. He likes the simple aggressive front end, and likens the overall design to be like that of a large sedan or wagon.
Venue has a stubby nose with split headlights, and an automatic function.
A large rear hatch gives oodles of access to a capacious boot which can be configured by changing the floor and seats to suit needs.
Does David like Venue’s interior?
Despite being daringly dapper, David does simple design, especially when it comes to comfy cabins.
Seats, front and back, gave enough support to make a long trip a bit less dreary.
The infotainment system has a large tablet mounted high up on the dash. David thought it looked a bit added on. It comes with android auto and Apple CarPlay, with some models also getting navigation and DAB.
The cabin is neat and clean, and very well equipped, even for an entry level car.
How well does Venue drive?
The engine is a trifle breathless. It is a 1.6L naturally aspirated petrol 4 cylinder. Power is a fairly modest 90kw, with an equally tame 151Nm of torque. It powers the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Steering is light, and a host of nifty driver aids like AEB, lane assist, and blind spot monitor make the trip easy as well as safe.
The event took in the best of bucolic beauty with country roads with a dash of dirt for good measure. Urban driving is a doddle.
David thought the cabin quiet too.
