1. Account Balance
Your account balance is the total amount of money in your trading account excluding any profits or losses from open trades. It only changes when you close trades, deposit, or withdraw funds.

📌 Example: If you start with $1,000 and open a trade, your balance still shows $1,000 until the trade is closed.

2. Equity
Your equity is the real-time value of your account. It is your balance plus or minus the floating profit or loss from all open trades. Equity changes constantly while trades are active.

📌 Formula:
Equity = Account Balance + Floating Profit/Loss

3. Margin
Margin is the portion of your account funds locked by the broker as collateral for maintaining an open trade. It ensures you have enough capital to support your positions.

📌 Example: If your broker requires 1% margin and you open a $10,000 trade, you’ll need $100 in margin.

4. Free Margin
Your free margin is the amount of money available in your account to open new trades or withstand losses.

📌 Formula:
Free Margin = Equity – Used Margin

If your free margin drops too low, you risk a margin call or your trades being closed automatically.

💡 Quick Analogy:

Balance = Your wallet after all past deals are settled.

Equity = Your wallet right now including ongoing deals.

Margin = The cash you’ve put aside for a bet.

Free Margin = What’s left in your wallet to place more bets or survive a losing streak.
