The North Yorkshire Moors Railway 2024 Diesel Gala | 15th June 2024

The first diesel gala in many years was held at the NYMR between the 14th and 16th June 2024, and hopefully it'll set the trend for it to become a yearly occasion on the line's event calendar!

This video is mostly filmed around Goathland but there also some clips from Levisham. Home fleet locos in operation were Class 25 D7628 "Sybilla", 31466, 37264 (in it's new BR Blue colours) & 47077 "North Star". Visiting locos were Class 14 D9537 from the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, 20142 "Sir John Betjeman" & 20189 courtesy of Michael Owen, 31128 "Charybdis" from Nemesis Rail, 37418 "An Comunn Gaidhealach" from Loram & finally 45108 from the East Lancashire Railway. This gala was a way of the NYMR 'dipping their toes back in the water' of diesel galas to see if it's a viabale revenue generator going forward; let's hope so so they can put on an even bigger event next year!
