This deck aims to do one thing. GO BIG. Scapeshift plus Field of the Dead provide for some very fun gameplay, and some of the most fun I’ve had in standard in a while. Making mass armies of zombies is almost game over on the spot. Look at LSV who recently won GP Denver with this deck, and it is no fluke. Let’s go over some cards in the list and see how this deck churns when you don’t have Scapeshift right away.

This is very similar to LSV’s list. Not exactly the same, but we’ll point out some differences, and how they can affect our matchups.

Shifting Ceratops is a powerhouse against more decks than Ripjaw Raptor is. Shifting Ceratops plus Teferi, Time Raveler make our Flash match up incredibly strong. The less interaction your opponent can have with you the easier your match is.

An extra scry land is in the land base because it’s an extra different named land to turn-on field of the dead, and an extra scry smoothes our draws vs the mirror and the Esper match.

One planar cleansing has been very powerful for me against Temur Elementals and the Esper Hero matchup. These decks can go wide pretty easily through either creatures or planeswalkers. Planar Cleansing does a good job clearing up the board before a big Scapeshift turn.
