Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend has moved to dispel a long-standing rumour that police won't attend reports of shoplifting unless the total value of the items stolen is £200 or more. Lisa, who spoke from a branch of Tesco in Guildford, said she recently joined an operation which saw a suspected offender detained for allegedly stealing items worth just £7.50 from a supermarket.
