Speakers included: Cha-Chi Fan, Director of the Office of Data Development and Standards at Bureau of Transportation Statistics at the U.S. Department of Transportation; Shanti V. Gomatam, Mathematical Statistician at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, and Jonah L. Wong, Mathematical Statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau. Our moderator for this session was Lu Chen, Research Associate with NISS & USDA/NASS.

About this Career Fair:
Government institutions have a unique mission when it comes to the data they collect as well as the importance of the research they engage in. This research becomes the principle foundation for informing policy issues that impact all aspects of society. Questions about what kinds of opportunities are there for data scientists in the federal government and how you prepare yourself for obtaining a position were answered by our spectacular speakers. Our speakers brought extensive experience to this webinar working in the federal government. We thank our speakers for their willingness to share their experiences so that others may better understand and be better prepared for working for a federal agency. After each speakers' presentations, we had an interactive Q&A session with the participants.
