'Life and Death in Data: Plagues, Pestilence, and Pandemics' Trinity Elective - Dr Máire Ní Leathlobhair, School of Genetics and Microbiology describes how, in this Elective, you will consider historical and contemporary texts that deal with the impacts of mass death spanning accounts of the demise of Athenian democracy to Maggie O’ Farrell’s novel ‘Hamnet’. You will also learn what pathogens are, how we can study their genomes and what they can tell us about the spread of disease, and how to interpret quantitative data and statistics and communicate clear messages about health data.

Trinity Electives are stand-alone 5 ECTS modules outside of students’ core disciplines.
