What are requirements for electrical operation (Motor) of point?
Concrete OR wooden point layout with Two long sleeper
Complete Point zone shall be Track Circuited.
Relayed Or Software controlled circuit to operate the point to ensure safety so that it is not possible to
v     take OFF a signal unless point it protecting is set & lock in required position (Route setting).
v     operate point machine if point zone track circuit is occupied by any rail vehicle Track Locking).
v     operate point machine electrically or manually if point is in the route OR overlap OR isolation of a signal which is in OFF condition (Route locking).

) Connect detection slide (which shall be nearer the toe) with the left hand tongue rail, irrespective of position of the point machine.
6.13) Connect the detector slides and adjust them in such a way that the roller falls inside the notches only when the point is fully set and housed. Simultaneously, the control disc must complete its rotation to ensure that the point is locked.
Test that the notch does not receive the roller when a 5 mm. obstruction piece is placed at 150 mm. from the toe of closed switch.
6.14) Connect the lock slides to he switch brackets through lock rods and adjust them such that the locking segment can enter the notches only when the point is correctly set. Test that locking segment does not get notch of locking slide when 5 mm. obstruction piece is placed at 150 mm. from the toe of the closed switch.
6.15) Tighten the nuts after adjustment.
6.16) Operate the machine several times with CH and ensure that the locking segment goes smoothly inside the angular notch of lock slide and with pressure in gear rack.
6.17) Make the electric connections & operate the machine several times. Ensure that the detection contacts make only at the end of the locking operation & both the control contacts make with the beginning of unlock rotation after detection breaks.
6.18) Check the correspondence between the point, point operating lever/point switch/point group and with the point indication.
6.19) Operate the machine electrically and note the working current by connecting Ammeter in series with the common terminal.
6.20) Conduct obstruction test with 5mm test piece.
6.21) Conduct the contact break test in the operation and detection circuit.
