Ciliates
The ciliates are a group of protozoans characterized by hair-like organelles called cilia, which are identical in structure to eukaryotic flagella but are generally shorter and present in much larger numbers, with a different undulating pattern than flagella.
Foraminiferans
Foraminifera is a single-celled organism, members of a phylum or class of amoeboid protists characterized by streaming granular ectoplasm for catching food and other uses; and commonly an external shell of diverse forms and materials. Tests of chitin are believed to be the most primitive type.
Actinopods
Class Actinopoda is under the subphylum Sarcodina and phylum Sarcomastigophora that consists of planktic marine organisms. However, some members of this group can be found in freshwater.
Like members of the class Foraminifera, most actinopods are shelled protozoans that separate/distinguish them from other naked members of the phylum.
Apicomplexans
The Apicomplexa are a large phylum of parasitic alveolates. Most of them possess a unique form of organelle that comprises a type of plastid called an apicoplast and an apical complex structure. The organelle is an adaptation that the apicomplexan applies in the penetration of a host cell.
