ঈদে কর্মস্থল থেকে বাড়ি আসা যাওয়ার পথে দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের মানুষের জন্য সবচেয়ে বড় বাধা ছিল ফেরিতে পদ্মা পারাপার। ঘাটে গরমের তাপদাহে বসে থাকতে হতো ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা। সেতুর বদৌলতে সেই পদ্মা পাড়ি দেয়া এখন যেন এক বিনোদন। চোখের পলকেই সেতু দিয়ে পার হচ্ছে শতশত গাড়ি। তাই পদ্মাসেতুর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা দক্ষিণাঞ্চলবাসীর।


Crossing the Padma by ferry was the biggest obstacle for the people of the southern region on their way home from work on Eid. We had to sit for hours in the heat of the ghat. Thanks to the bridge, crossing the Padma river is now a pastime. Hundreds of cars are crossing the bridge in the blink of an eye. So the people of the southern region are grateful to Padma Setu.
