Next up is the X3 to Market Harborough. Personally, my original song choices were awful mainly due to where they changed over and the change over was too quick.

The X3 (in this visual) runs from Leicester St. Margaret's Bus Station to Market Harborough Southern Estate via Leicester Railway Station, Victoria Park, Stoneygate, Oadby, Great Glen, Burton Ovary, Kibworth Beauchamp, Kibworth Harcourt (route through this bit at the time rotated depending on the time, some journeys served the Kibworth Meadows development and then Fleckney Road, which is what this bus did on the way back, now they always go this way), West Langton and Market Harborough Town Centre. Changes in February 2019 have seen the Southern Estate reverted to a peak time extension. It's now cut back to the town centre, using the Market Hall to turn around. However, those journeys have recently been extended to be closer to a new housing development.

This was filmed when Arriva Wigston thought it was a bright idea to allocate 17-plate E200 MMCs from High Wycombe as to it due to the 67-plate Sapphire E400 MMCs departing to Nottingham after just 6 months in service. By September, they were sticking at least one of the Sapphire B9TLs that were previously allocated to it. By March, it was 100% double-deckers again.

Due to popular demand whenever one went over, the E200 MMCs are now used on the 74/78/78A/79 between Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry, although sometimes one returns to Leicester, used on the 44/44A and 49. The Streetlites previously used there are now allocated to the 86/87 although sometimes one ends up on the X84. This all however means that the non-Sapphire Geminis are more common on the 44/44A and 49 now (you'll know as I got one for my 49 re-film).

Running every 30 minutes, Sapphire B9TLs and sometimes E400 MMCs are the main working. I got the latter type for this visual and was extremely rare at the time due to E200 MMCs being the main working due to the departure of the Sapphire MMCs.

While we're on the topic of double and single-decker allocation, this service no longer serves Fleckney Road or Kibworth Meadows so I don't see why the X7 should serve New Road now. If they made it use Church Road to get to the square and back to the A6 like this route always does now, this could be Northampton's opportunity to make it a double-decker route. It wouldn't be a bad route to timelapse even if it has been cut back to Northampton, but if I do go down there wouldn't be anything stopping me doing the newly revised X6 which has replaced that section.

I've been doing some thinking and I think it's time Leicester aquired some DB300s. At first I thought these should replace the B9TLs and they go to Thurmaston for the 29 and 29A but despite what I thought, I've been informed they won't be strong enough for the big hill so they're better staying at Wigston and the DB300s go on the Coalville services. Some should also be refurbished to Sapphire for the 158 as the low bridge in Nuneaton comes down at the end of this month.
