How to make realistic icicles out of hot glue

There are loads of tutorials out there already on how to make masks and crowns with hot glue, but all of them involve drawing "icicles" out onto a flat surface. This tutorial shows you how to make icicles that look much more realistic and 3-dimensional just out of hot glue and plastic wrap.

(For those wondering where this came from all of a sudden, I'm venturing into prop making for photo shoots.)
