While performing her song 16 Carriages, she was riding in a flying red convertible — a signature part of her show — when things took a sudden and frightening turn. Mid-performance, the car, which is usually suspended upright above the stage, began to tilt dangerously in the air. Fans quickly noticed the shift and captured the moment on video.
As the car hung at an awkward slant, Beyoncé, ever the professional, remained visibly calm but took immediate action. With concern in her voice, she sternly told her team, “Stop. Stop, stop, stop.” The audience went silent before erupting into a mix of shouts and cheers. Thankfully, the prop, attached by harnesses and cables, was slowly and safely lowered to the stage.
Once on the ground, Beyoncé briefly exited the stage but soon returned to finish her performance. Standing in front of her fans, she shared a heartfelt message, saying, “I wanna thank y’all… for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
This incident wasn’t the first technical glitch on the Cowboy Carter tour. Back in May during her Los Angeles performance at SoFi Stadium, another mishap occurred involving a robotic arm that was supposed to pour her a drink during a theatrical segment. Instead, the robot missed the mark and spilled liquor all over the golden throne she was seated in. Beyoncé smiled briefly, then carried on with the act, sipping from an empty glass and continuing as though nothing had gone wrong.
Earlier this month in London, she also experienced a wardrobe malfunction when her fringed chaps unexpectedly fell off mid-song. But even then, she kept her composure and continued performing without missing a beat.
Despite the technical challenges, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour has been a spectacular celebration of her latest album. The tour, featuring 32 stadium shows across the U.S. and Europe, began in April and is set to conclude in late July.
Even with the occasional glitch, Beyoncé proves time and again that she’s a true performer — poised, professional, and always in control, no matter what happens on stage.
