Douglas Bulldogs vs Bisbee Pumas (2024 Copper Pick Trophy 2of2)

In a tense second half of the annual Copper Pick rivalry, the Bisbee Pumas extended their narrow 13-7 halftime lead, surging ahead to a commanding 26-13 score. The momentum seemed to be all Pumas, but the Douglas Bulldogs weren’t done yet. With grit and determination, the Bulldogs clawed their way back, cutting the lead to within six points as the clock wound down.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs' defense made a huge play, intercepting a pass and setting up a potential game-tying drive. With just two minutes remaining, Douglas had the ball and the chance to stun the Pumas. But Bisbee's defense had one last stand in them—intercepting the ball to end Douglas’s hopes of a comeback. The Pumas secured the 26-20 victory, bringing the coveted Copper Pick back to Bisbee for another year.
