Liszt: Grande fantaisie de bravoure sur La clochette, S.420 [Pasini]

Composed for solo piano in 1832 – 1834, published as "Op. 2" in 1834. The piece is based on the main theme, known as "La Campanella" - the last movement of the Violin Concerto No. 2, Op. 7, by Niccolò Paganini. It also exists in two later versions from 1845, the Grande Fantaisie sur des thèmes de Paganini (S.700a/i and S.700a/ii). In these later versions, Liszt also incorporates the theme used by Paganini in his Il Carnevale di Venezia.
Theme was used in his Études d'exécution transcendante d'après Paganini (S.140, No. 3) and the most famous one, final version, Grandes études de Paganini (S.141 No. 3)
