Mr. Wise has a knack for summoning the 90s. His melodies, with ample syncopation, and harmonies all bring back fuzzy feelings. Amiss Abyss is 3 tunes for the price of 1. It's lengthy and luxurious.

That's why I decided to give the tune the time it needed to spread its wings. It's an arrangement in three phases: piano solo, then repeated with backing by drums, bass, sax and synth, (2:10) and concluding with an all-out jam adding guitar and piano improv (4:13).
