Yes, a Florida Trustee is absolutely required to give you an accounting of each Florida Trust that you are a beneficiary of, so if you’re a beneficiary of multiple Trusts, you get an accounting for every single Trust. You also get an accounting every single year and that typically means a calendar year, January to December 31st, or the point in time when that Trustee took over that Trust. If a Florida Trustee is telling you that they’re not required to give you an accounting or a Florida Trustee tells you they’re not required to tell you where the assets are or what they’re valued at, be very, very cautious.
