Shine Bright: Intro to Location Flash Photography with JC Carey

JC Carey invites those who have never used a flash and those who have perhaps tried and failed to join him for a simple step-by-step process based on what you already do as a non-lighting photographer so that you can add light via off-camera flash to your location photos to get dramatic or natural results. Rather than counting on formulaic “recipes” JC focuses on taking the steps that you already use to take photos and then showing you how to add the light. For those of you that want to go from simply taking photos to making photographs the ability to consistently and easily add light to your photos is the number one way to differentiate yourself. This class will feature one light setup that just about anyone can do

Joseph “JC” Carey (aka JCPhotoMedia) is a lifetime image maker who like so many photographers was terrified of lighting until he was gifted with a lighting class in 2007. The class wasn’t very good (being kind) but it lit a fire to figure out how to add lighting to his creative arsenal. That gift changed everything. It transformed him from someone who barely took pictures of people and knew nothing about lighting into someone still trying to figure out how to light everything.

The next 16 years have passed with him being blessed with a daughter and a career doing what he loves while meeting amazing people. Over the last 8 years, he has found that his passion is bringing the light to students and showing them how to go from Fear To Flash.
