Here are some of the features of this Salewa Ortles mountaineering boots:
High-tenacity nylon and TPU overlay for abrasion-resistance
PTX membrane is both waterproof and breathable
Elastic gaiter seals out trail debris
3F system locks in heel for stability and support
MFF+ footbed with interchangeable layers to customize fit
Cleansport NXT pro-biotic technology for odor control
Crampon compatible boots

Overall, I am very happy with the performance of these Salewa Ortles boots. Decent comfort on the trail, excellent traction throughout most of the trek, built in gaiters came in handy, PTX waterproofing solid. I was really happy that I did not have to carry two different shoes/boots.
