In this Family Field session, inspired by the pioneering work of Bert Hellinger and the wisdom of the Zulu people of South Africa, we explore the dynamics of being excommunicated from a faith community.

This session is shared for the Jehovah’s Witness community and for anyone who’s felt that deep wound of exile from family and belonging.

In this video, I represent myself, my sister Rachel, my father who also left the religion, and my supportive husband Mark, along with my rabbit spirit animal.

We place figurines to represent the Jehovah’s Witness community and the organization itself, symbolized by a hut moved outside the family circle.

By naming the wound—the pain of being cast out and cut off from family ties—we invite a moment of truth and healing.

As the field settles, we witness how this practice brings a bird’s-eye view, clarity, and coherence back to the family soul.
