Описание к видео Invicta steam locomotive as built and preserved

A render of Invicta on the opening day and as preserved using multiple viewpoints, including firemans position and below the engine to show the eccentrics! as always just for fun

In June 1825 George Stephenson took over the responsability of building the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway, the line was to consist of 3 statinary engines using rope haulage. However by the time Stephensons had delivered the first 2 in June and November of 1829 news of the success of Rocket at Rainhill prompted the Directors of the C&W railway to order a locomotive instead of the last stationary engine. The cost of the last winding engine was £1550 compared with £635 for a locomotive. The locomotive and its tender were completed in April 1830, the engine was dismantled and shipped by collier to Whitstable, there the engine was re-assembled, tested and made ready for the opening of the railway on 3rd May 1830. I have made two versions of the engine, the first is as built and the second as preserved, when I get chance I will be making a third which will be as the engine was originally designed from Stephensons original drawings
