Grace Sterling-Stowell serves as executive director of BAGLY (Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Youth), with which she has been involved since it began in 1980, becoming executive director in 1997. She also helped found the Healthy Boston Coalition for GLBT Youth and the National Advocacy Coalition on Youth and Sexual Orientation. In 2007, Grace became Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. She holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley College.
