Training video: Logic Models: Developing Theories of Change for the Real-World

Описание к видео Training video: Logic Models: Developing Theories of Change for the Real-World

Logic models are a central feature of intervention research yet have received considerable criticism from qualitative and quantitative researchers alike. This session will explore the pros and cons of logic models from a complexity perspective. A more dynamic, context-sensitive approach will be proposed, called “real-world” logic modelling, based on the detailed process-oriented study of interventions during their implementation. The author will describe techniques they have developed and applied in diverse research projects, including participatory research, RCTs and public policy implementation. They will use practical examples to show how real-world logic models may be derived and discuss future directions. The approach is argued to help qualitatively minded researchers talk about the effectiveness of conscious change efforts, with potentially diverse application, without losing sight of the challenges involved in implementation and the crucial impact of context.
