1967 Rols Dictation Machine - Part One Fault Finding & Adjustment - Retrotech - Fixit

Having posted a previous video demonstrating the Rols Dictation Machine (also known as the GAF Rols in parts of the USA), I was contacted by a viewer who has a Rols machine that isn't working correctly. They asked if I could help - so this video looks at some of the faults I had to fix on my machine and also some possible causes of the issue they are having with the magnetic recording film advancing motor.

The video ended up so long that this is part one of two - in this instalment we'll do a bit of fault finding and adjustment on the machine and in part two we'll strip down the stepper motor that advances the magnetic recording film.
