LEAD-IN
It looks like it's landed from space but Berlin's Humboldt Box has a very earthly purpose.
The futuristic cube, against the backdrop of the city's baroque Cathedral, is designed to draw people's attention to the Berlin Palace, which is under construction.
STORYLINE
Here in Berlin's historic centre is the Humboldt Box, a futuristic construction made out of metal and blue mesh.
The building towers 28 metres (92 ft) above the Unter den Linden - one of the main shopping and tourist streets in the German capital.
But with Berlin's baroque cathedral right next-door and the iconic Berlin TV tower casting a shadow over the box - how does the new building sit in its new home?
If you're thinking it looks out of place - you're not the only one.
But the building is only temporary and will be dismantled in 2019 when the Berlin palace, or Humboldt forum, as it is also known, has been completed.
The building site next to the box is little more than a giant sandpit.
Work is set to begin in 2014 and is planned to finish in 2019.
