/ vegasstrongsports   Pop music superstar and Resorts World Theatre resident headliner, Katy Perry, made a spectacular appearance at Fremont Street Experience for the midnight debut and world premiere of the destination’s newest Viva Vision music and light show, created in collaboration with Perry and featuring her biggest hits.

Directly after her headlining residency performance, “KATY PERRY: PLAY,” at Resorts World Theatre, Perry flew “superwoman-style” over thousands of excited fans on the iconic SlotZilla Zipline in a bright red outfit complete with fringe chaps and a mushroom hat. Landing on the Main Street Stage, Perry greeted the adoring crowd of supporters before introducing her Viva Vision show to the world.

Introduced by Fremont Street Experience chief marketing officer, Paul McGuire, Perry engaged with the packed crowd and told stories about her family’s history in Las Vegas and the inspiration behind her hit “Waking Up in Vegas” (which was filmed on Fremont Street). In a touching moment, Perry spotted a young fan in the crowd who was wearing a cast on her arm, and invited her on stage, so she could be the first person to sign her cast.

Fans eagerly awaited the premiere of her Viva Vision show, which featured hits “California Gurls,” “Firework,” and “Waking Up In Vegas.” Perry danced along to the show and ventured into the crowd to sign autographs and greet fans.

After the premiere, Perry excitedly stated, “I am going to be here every night after my show,” and she expressed her gratitude to Fremont Street Experience and noted what an incredible night it had been.

Airing on the world’s largest digital display, Fremont Street Experience’s Viva Vision shows are comprised of music montages from legendary artists set to stunning 3-D images and graphics inspired by each artist. Including Perry’s hit songs “Waking Up In Vegas,” “California Gurls” and “Firework,” her Viva Vision show joins a stacked lineup of shows inspired by music icons like Imagine Dragons, Shakira, Steve Aoki, and others.

Emphasizing the impact and magnitude of each show, Fremont Street Experience ceases all live entertainment on its stages and turns off the exterior lights of the properties and stores beneath the canopy to draw attention to the spectacle above. With an increase in sound levels, each show opens with a theatrical introduction reminiscent of a major movie production. Fremont Street Experience’s Viva Vision shows are free to the public and air in rotation every day from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the top of each hour.
