Debuting in 1995, Citynet 27 was the original channel that occupied the DWDB-TV station which later became home to EMC, QTV, GMA News TV, and now GTV. It was GMA's version of ABS-CBN's Studio 23 in that they relegated all of their foreign content on that channel as they focused on purely domestic programming in the mid-90s.

Unfortunately, the channel didn't work out well financially for GMA, forcing them to discontinue it in 1999 as they moved to a different direction.
