Vacation in Peru part1 Cusco

Join me on an incredible journey through Peru, a land of breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture! Our adventure began with a long journey from Prague, with a transit in Amsterdam - a 12.5-hour flight that felt like an eternity but was totally worth it!

Our first destination was the magical city of Cusco, the historic heart of the Inca civilization. After arriving, we immediately started our acclimatization to the high-altitude conditions. The first day was all about gentle exploration and soaking in the unique atmosphere of South America.

We started with the iconic photos with the adorable alpacas - because, let's be honest, who comes to Peru and doesn't take alpaca pictures? Then we ventured into the city center, discovering an interesting fact: almost every main square in Peru is called "Plaza de Armas"!

The street life here is incredibly dynamic - commerce happens right on the sidewalks, with vendors selling everything imaginable. The colors, sounds, and energy are simply mesmerizing. Stay tuned for more of our Peruvian adventure!


Day 2 of our Peruvian adventure was all about exploring the breathtaking archaeological sites around Cusco! We embarked on a gentle hike to acclimatize to the high altitude, starting our journey at Q'enao.

Pro tip for travelers: You'll need a "boleto turístico" (tourist ticket) to visit the local historical sites. Our route included four incredible locations: Q'enao, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, and the spectacular Saqsaywaman.

We experienced local transportation like true adventurers, using "colectivo" - the shared taxi system that's a staple of South American travel. The highlight? A stunning stop at Cristo Blanco (the White Christ statue) with its panoramic views of Cusco sprawling beneath us.
