What are the different types of Calendars?
GoTime Cloud has two types of calendars:
Public Calendar and Private Calendar

A calendar will display your employee or company work week, for example your company may works 7 days a week you will create a new calendar for 7 working days. You can also assign public holidays, variants, or events.
In this video we will cover a standard work week, along with a 6 and 7 day work day.

GTC comes with a default General 5 Day Work Week Calendar. You can edit this calendar to add holidays, variants or events. Once you have created all the public calendars, you can apply or assign them to employees.

Assign or Apply
Explained is the difference below:
• Assign calendar: When a public calendar is assigned to a staff member, the template on which the employee's personal calendar is built changes. All values already existing
in the personal calendar will be respected.

• Apply calendar: When a public calendar is applied, all personal calendar configurations are deleted and the new public calendar is assigned as a template for the employee's
personal calendar.

Calendar Variants
At certain times of the year, a different workday is applied, e.g. during summer periods during which a different workday than the usual one is applied in many companies. For example, Friday your company may finish early or have special rates. You can set a variant that will always be applied to a fixed date range with the usual options when setting a variant. Additionally, you can define to which days it will apply within this range, and you can choose to apply it to All days, Ignore public holidays or Workdays only.

Calendar Events
In some cases, in a company, there are foreseeable events that affect the whole company. For example, company closures in summer or eventualities, such as closures for refurbishment or end of season. This option allows you to generate the annual calendar including events of this type in a specific period of time; establishing whether it will be applied to all the days that fall within this range, choosing to apply it to All days, Ignore public holidays or Workdays only.
