It's Your Call A Deceptively Annoying Preempt

It’s Your Call is a weekly ACBL Series, in which Kai and a special guest put their heads together to try and find an optimal solution to a multiple-factor bidding problem!

This week, Kai welcomes, Dr. Ewan McNay, A Bridge Connesuir with a lot of experience. He started at age 14 back in England! He had a great youth Bridge career, the highlight of which was his team winning the very first Paggy Bayer Trophy in existence! He moved to the United States for love where he pursued a PHD in NeuroScience and gave Bridge a break for 20 years! Thanks to COVID, he is back in the Bridge scene and competing well as can be seen by his results in the Rekavick Invitational in Iceland. Today he was tasked with bidding a hand where the opponents preempt just a bit too high for comfort. He talks about major inferences that bids and not bids can draw. And there is the uncommonly seen: 4 consecutive bids of the same suit in a row! Find out how it happens in this week's episode of It’s Your Call!
