These chimpanzees were rescued and brought to these sanctuaries before or sometimes long after they had become pets. Chimps will always become too strong and playful to keep in a house as they get older.

The clips and pictures from Chimp Eden in South Africa and IDA Africa, Sanaga Yong in Cameroon. I volunteered at the sanctuaries in 2010 and 2011. It was an incredible experience. Chimpanzees are amazing animals. They are so incredibly intelligent.
