Jason Sidwell - Hugging The Cactus (1080 HD)

This instrumental was partially influenced by Gerry Rafferty's songs, particularly The Right Moment from his 1982 Sleepwalking album (as well as Olivia Newton John's later version on her 1985 Soul Kiss album). His chord choices and melodic phrasing were so smooth and rich, I wanted some of those elements to shape this piece.
As regards equipment, I used the following;
- Godin LGX3 fitted with DiMarzio pickups (the neck pickup was exclusively used; Fast Track 1 as favoured by Sonny Landreth).
- Universal Audio's Fuchs Overdrive Supreme amp plug-in.
- Presonus Studio One v4 DAW
- piano by 8Dio, orchestral strings by 8Dio and Spitfire Audio, sound effects and ambiences by Omnisphere
- Effect Plug-ins by Waves, LiquidSonics, Oeksome, Zynaptiq, UAD and IK Multimedia
